Central Okanagan Public Schools welcome international students from around the world into our high quality educational programs. We offer short-term and long term opportunities for international students at the elementary, middle and high school levels. International students are invited to study alongside Canadian students in one of our 5 high schools, 7 middle schools or 31 elementary schools for short-term placements ranging from three months to one year.
Our high schools offer a wide variety of academic, advanced placement, and elective courses as well as specialty academies and career programs. High school students have opportunities to study languages, social studies, mathematics, sciences, fine arts, applied design, skills and technologies, physical education and health, careers, leadership and specialty academies. Students can receive credit for academic coursework and/or choose to attend for a cultural experience.
International students can also choose to study in the Central Okanagan and earn a British Columbia Certificate of Graduation Dogwood Diploma. Our middle schools provide an academic and exploratory program designed specifically for younger adolescent learners. Students develop knowledge and skills in core academic areas as well as explore fine arts, applied skills, design and technologies in a collaborative learning environment. Students can receive credit for academic coursework and/or choose to attend for a cultural experience.
Elementary students are welcome in our 31 schools. Students are integrated into regular classrooms and study a variety of subjects. Elementary students must live with a parent while studying in the Central Okanagan.
